rojo y negro

Exhibited twice in Mexico, this series is a discourse of plasticity in which Black and Red are the terms of an amorous passion, female sensuality, the struggle for a better world: one with peace, justice, dignified work and liberty. Red represents the color of blood, which feeds the land, the present and the luminous future of the oppressed. Black represents the night and the storm, repression and exile, jail and anger.

The drawings in this series are both a testimony and irrefutable proof that creativity and imagination can survive all that is wicked.
